here Set within a beautiful Charentaise style property (former Napoleonic Captain's residence, per prior owner). Comprising 11x5m enclosed swimming pool, fenced gardens and adjacent meadow (2.4 acres in total), owners accommodation and two two bedroom gites. The property is located in the tranquil hamlet of Lossandière, a few hundred yards to the north of the pretty village of Saint Léger, south of Saintes. Golden beaches lie 24 miles (by road) to the west. Royan is the main coastal resort town that is close. The area is noted for it's micro climate which provides more sun than anywhere else on the west coast of France and is only surpassed by the Mediterranean (click here for sunshine map). There is a good restaurant within walking distance and we are surrounded by glorious open countryside. There is a magnificent forest within a few hundred yards and the walking/cycling is superb with lots of open tracks. The building is very spacious at just under 50m long and each giteis almost at opposite ends. So you need only get to know other guests if you want to!
